Dr. Libby Maddux is a 2007 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Maddux completed an internship at Merritt and Associates Equine Hospital in Wauconda, IL. While working at Merritt and Associates Dr. Maddux focused her skills on equine lameness and sports medicine. After completing her internship Dr. Maddux took an associate position at a general equine practice in middle Tennessee. Working in a general practice allowed Dr. Maddux to gain further experience in all areas of equine veterinary medicine ranging from herd health and dentistry, to internal medicine and reproduction, while continuing to pursue her main interest of lameness and sports medicine.
Dr. Maddux is originally from Marion, KY, and is excited to be back in the area where she grew up on a farm involved with both horses and cattle. Growing up she competed in various disciplines of the horse show world, starting out showing in AQHA, then becoming an avid rodeo competitor as she finished high school and attended college at Murray State University. In her free time Dr. Maddux still enjoys being able to ride and participate in various equine events, as well as travel.
In 2011 Dr. Maddux joined the team at the Darling Ranch and she is very excited about the opportunity to serve the ranch’s veterinary needs, as well as being part of such a great team. In addition to being part of the Darling Ranch team, Dr. Maddux is opening an equine practice to help serve the needs of the area horses.
